For subfloors thicker than 1 1/4", this product can still be used effectively. Simply add a trim piece between the bottom lip of the storage step and the factory step, and use shims between this product and the factory step to fill any gaps and ensure proper support.
If the corner of the storage step contacts the rubber seal around the sliding door, we recommend lightly grinding the corner to create sufficient clearance.
